Creativity, Networking are Keys to Sparking Deals

Recently, I have been able to get 2 houses under contract that were not on the market.
One had expired in November and then been rented in U City, so I called the agent to ask if the lease term was coming up, and it was! She let my buyer and me into the house and he ended up writing a contract that was accepted by the owners.
In another case, I had an owner who signed a listing agreement with me but we had not gotten the house ready to market yet. Liz Rainey, also of Upper End Properties, had some buyers who saw it in the meantime and we ended up making a deal.
Therefore, it is advantageous to get creative and network as much as possible. I have good relationships with many St. Louis agents in the central corridor and sometimes just talking with them can spark a possible “out of the box” deal.
Also, I think that these clients will remember how we went the extra mile and found them something that was unavailable. Hopefully that makes our services invaluable in their eyes.
