It is nearly impossible to predict the bottom of any market.  The stock market is one of my personal favorites.  I remember when people wouldn’t buy a stock when the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped to 7500 a couple of years ago.
Fear is a dangerous emotion. As an advisor we would tell people, we may not have hit the bottom, but we have to be close.  It was a great time to buy and many missed out because they let their emotions get in the way.  Whether you are buying a house, a stock, or any asset, you should not let your emotions get in the way.
The real estate market is no different in that we are probably pretty close to a bottom.  Especially here in Saint Louis.  Prices in solid neighborhoods with good schools really don’t move a lot in regards to prices compared to Florida, California etc.  The article below is a great way to remind us that if we are sitting on the sidelines, depending on the situation, it might be the right time to start making some decisions…
