Tis’ the Season: Upper End Gives Back

This Christmas season Upper End Properties chose CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, as our corporate sponsored Holiday Charity.  CASA is one of the most recognized charities, especially during the holidays, because of their focus on young children unable to live safely at home.  An excerpt from their website says it best:

“Each year, approximately 780,000 children in the US are caught up in the court and child welfare maze because they are unable to live safely at home.  Imagine what it would be like to lose your parents, not because of something you did, but because they can’t—or won’t—take care of you. Now, into these children’s lives come dozens of strangers: police, foster parents, therapists, social workers, judges, lawyers, and more.  Hopefully, one of these strangers is a CASA volunteer.”

Each of our agents came together with toys to give to CASA.  ”We had a blast with this”, said Operating Partner Cory Spielberg.  “Each of us adopted a child for the holidays and each child received what they asked for.”   Some of our favorites included a remote control car (really cool), a few barbies, a hockey set, and an art set with crayons, pencils, and markers.  We think the children are really going to enjoy it.
